We’re expanding what healing can look like in Michigan.
integrative wellness at michigan wellbeing
Meaningful transformation tends to require more than what any single approach can offer.
For some, what's needed is the combination of therapeutic work and practical skill-building. For others, it's support that addresses the body as much as the mind, or guidance that speaks to dimensions of experience that conventional approaches don't fully acknowledge.
For too long, these forms of care have remained scattered, hard to find, and even harder to navigate. Michigan Wellbeing is working to change that. We work with a thoughtful network of wellness professionals, from coaches and nutritionists to somatic practitioners, herbalists, and holistic healers, so you can build a care team that fits your needs.
Whether you're moving through a major life transition, seeking support in your professional life, exploring approaches to wellbeing you haven't tried before, or simply acknowledging that you need something more, we're here to help you find your way.
our integrative philosophy
We're on a mission to bring the full depth and range of what's possible in healing and growth to the people of Michigan.
There is an extraordinary range of support available in the world today. For instance, the right support might come from practitioners trained in ancient healing traditions or coaches and clinicians working at the edges of contemporary research. The approach you need may be rooted in body-based therapies that address what talk alone cannot reach, or approaches that honor the deeper dimensions of human experience.
We're here to help you discover the forms of care and support that will serve you best and work with you to develop an integrative plan that helps you grow and thrive.
How it Works
It all begins with a collaborative conversation where we explore what's going on in your life, what you've already tried, what's working, and what still feels incomplete. We take time to understand the fuller picture of how you're living, what you're navigating, and what kind of support might actually help.
From there, we develop an integrative wellness plan together, a personalized roadmap that might include therapy, coaching, body-based practices, nutritional and herbal support, nervous system regulation, or services that honor the spiritual and symbolic dimensions of your experience. We help you understand what each approach offers, how they might work together, and then connect you with the right professionals to support your journey.
An Integrative Approach to Wellbeing
We combine both in-house services and connections to our broaded network of trusted professionals. Depending on your needs, your care might include any combination of the following:
-
Practical, skills-based support for organization, time management, follow-through, and building systems that work with your brain rather than against it. This is grounded, action-oriented work that helps adults and young people navigate ADHD, executive function challenges, or the desire for more structure and sustainability in daily life. For children, teens, and adults.
-
For those navigating career transitions, leadership challenges, creative blocks, or the desire to align their professional life with their deeper values. This goes beyond traditional career counseling into questions of meaning, purpose, and how you want to show up in your work.
-
Evidence-based approaches to calming an overactive nervous system, building resilience, and creating a felt sense of safety in the body. SSP is a music-based listening therapy rooted in polyvagal theory that supports anxiety, sensory sensitivities, trauma recovery, and emotional regulation for both children and adults. For many people, nervous system work creates the foundation that makes everything else possible.
-
Guidance on how food, supplements, and herbal medicine can support mental health, energy, focus, sleep, and overall wellbeing. We connect you with nutritionists and herbalists who understand the deep relationship between what you put in your body and how you feel, think, and function. This may include practitioners trained in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, or Western herbalism.
-
For those who sense that healing needs to happen in the body, not just the mind. Trauma, stress, and emotional patterns often live in our physical selves in ways that talk therapy alone can't fully reach. Somatic work helps release stored tension, process what words can't access, and build a more grounded, embodied relationship with yourself.
-
Some people find profound insight, direction, and healing through practices that fall outside traditional clinical or even mainstream wellness frameworks. We work with practitioners of Human Design, teachers from contemplative and spiritual traditions, and guides who bring depth and integrity to the symbolic and spiritual dimensions of human experience. These approaches aren't for everyone, but for those who are drawn to them, they can offer a kind of clarity and meaning that other modalities don't touch.
Is Integrative Wellness Right for You?
This approach might resonate if any of the following feel true:
You've done therapy and found it valuable, but you sense there's more to explore, dimensions of your experience that haven't been fully addressed
You're curious about holistic, alternative, or non-mainstream approaches to healing but feel overwhelmed by the options or unsure on how to move forward
You're dealing with challenges that feel physical or somatic, not just emotional: chronic fatigue, nervous system dysregulation, sensory overwhelm, or a body that holds stress in ways you can't think your way out of
You want support that addresses your whole life, not just your mental health in isolation, including your work, your relationships, your physical wellbeing, and the deeper questions of meaning and purpose
You're navigating ADHD, executive function struggles, or neurodivergence and want practical tools alongside (or instead of) traditional therapeutic support
You're drawn to practices like herbal medicine, Human Design, Ayurveda, or body-based healing but want guidance from someone who can help you navigate these worlds thoughtfully
You're a parent looking for integrative support for your child or family, and you want someone who can help you see all the options and build a plan that makes sense
You've tried a lot of things and nothing has quite worked, and you're wondering if the answer might be a more integrated, personalized approach rather than another single intervention
Integrative wellness isn't about rejecting traditional therapy or mainstream medicine. It's about expanding what's possible, honoring the complexity of who you are, and building a care team that reflects the full range of what you might need.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We start by listening. George will ask about what's going on in your life, what you've tried before, what's helped, and what still feels stuck. From there, we'll explore different approaches that might be relevant, help you understand what each one offers, and create a plan with clear next steps. You'll leave with a sense of direction and connections to the practitioners or services that make the most sense for your situation.
-
It can be, but it doesn't have to be. For many people, integrative wellness complements ongoing therapy, adding dimensions of support that therapy alone doesn't provide. For others, it's a starting point before therapy, or an alternative path entirely. The consultation helps you figure out what combination makes sense for you.
-
Yes. Many of our offerings, including SSP, executive function coaching, and nervous system regulation, are especially well-suited for children and teens. The consultation can help you explore what might support your child, your family system, or yourself as a parent navigating complex decisions about your child's care.
-
That's exactly what the consultation is for. Most people come in with a sense that something isn't working, but without a clear picture of what would help. Our job is to help you see the options, understand what different approaches offer, and figure out together what might actually move the needle.
-
It depends on your needs. Some services, like SSP and executive function coaching, are offered directly through Michigan Wellbeing. For others, we connect you with trusted professionals in our referral network who specialize in areas like nutrition, herbal medicine, somatic work, or Human Design. Many people end up with a blend of in-house services and outside referrals, and we help coordinate that care so it feels cohesive rather than fragmented.
-
Anyone can search for a coach, a nutritionist, or an herbalist, but knowing who's actually skilled, who's the right fit for your specific situation, how different modalities work together, and what sequence makes sense takes experience and discernment. That's what we offer: guidance from someone who understands the landscape, has real relationships with practitioners across many traditions, and can help you navigate it all without wasting time or money on approaches that aren't right for you.
-
This is our term for practices that honor the spiritual, symbolic, and less mainstream dimensions of healing: Human Design, contemplative and spiritual traditions, Ayurveda, Astrology, and other approaches that don't fit neatly into conventional categories. We work with practitioners who bring genuine depth and integrity to this work, and we can help you find the right fit if you're curious about exploring these paths.
Please Keep in Mind
Integrative wellness is a complement to the care you may already be receiving, not a replacement for it. Our consultations, referrals, and wellness planning do not constitute medical advice, mental health treatment, or diagnosis. We always encourage clients to work with licensed physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals for their medical and mental health needs, and to discuss any new approaches with their existing providers before beginning.
