Therapy for Depression & Mood Disorders
Regain Stability, Energy & Emotional Resilience
Healing Starts Here.
When your emotions feel unpredictable or overwhelming, it can impact every aspect of life—your relationships, your ability to focus, your motivation, and even your sense of self. Depression, mood swings, and persistent emotional lows are not simply a matter of feeling sad or unmotivated; they are often deeply rooted in how your nervous system processes stress, how past experiences have shaped your emotional patterns, and how your brain regulates energy and emotions. These struggles can leave you feeling disconnected, drained, or stuck in cycles that seem impossible to break.
At Michigan Wellbeing, we recognize that depression and mood disorders are complex, but healing is possible. Our approach to therapy goes beyond managing symptoms—we help you understand the deeper emotional, cognitive, and physiological factors at play while equipping you with real strategies to regain stability and resilience. Whether you experience persistent low moods, emotional ups and downs, or feel disconnected from yourself and those around you, our therapy is designed to help you break free from these patterns, reclaim your energy, and reconnect with a sense of purpose.
How We Approach Depression & Mood Disorders
Healing from depression and mood challenges isn’t just about feeling “better”—it’s about creating real, sustainable change in how you experience and engage with the world. Our therapy process is rooted in a whole-person approach, addressing not just thoughts and behaviors but the nervous system, relationships, and underlying emotional patterns.
Strengthening Emotional Resilience — We don’t just help you “cope”—we help you build resilience. Using evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic exploration, we guide you in shifting unhelpful thought patterns, developing emotional flexibility, and reconnecting with what brings meaning and joy into your life.
Breaking Cycles of Isolation & Disconnection — Depression and mood disorders often make it difficult to reach out for support, maintain relationships, or feel truly understood. Through relational therapy and attachment-based approaches, we help you navigate relationship struggles, rebuild trust in yourself and others, and cultivate deeper, more meaningful connections.
Understanding Your Emotional Landscape — We work with you to identify the emotional, relational, and environmental factors influencing your mood. This includes recognizing patterns of negative self-talk, exploring the impact of past experiences, and understanding how your body holds onto stress and emotions.
Regulating the Nervous System — Chronic stress, unresolved trauma, and emotional overwhelm can keep your nervous system in a state of dysregulation, making it difficult to feel grounded and emotionally stable. Through somatic therapy, mindfulness techniques, and polyvagal-informed interventions, we help you restore balance, reduce emotional reactivity, and develop a sense of internal safety.

What To Expect From Therapy at Michigan Wellbeing
A Thoughtful, Individualized Approach – Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand your experiences, your history, and the ways you relate to yourself and others.
A Whole-Person Perspective – We integrate relational therapy, somatic work, self-regulation techniques, and evidence-based interventions to address challenges from multiple angles.
Practical Tools for Everyday Life – Therapy is not just about insight—it’s about gaining the tools and strategies to navigate emotions, relationships, and daily life with confidence.
Deep, Root-Cause Healing – Instead of just managing symptoms, we work to understand and shift underlying patterns so that real, lasting change can happen.
A Flexible, Evolving Process – As you grow, your therapy evolves with you. We adjust the approach based on what’s working, ensuring that each session remains impactful and aligned with your needs.
💡Therapy is about more than just coping—it’s about building a stronger, more resilient, and more connected version of yourself. Whatever challenges you’re facing, we are here to help you move through them with care, expertise, and a truly integrative approach to healing.
